End of Life Sessions

The loss of a pet is one of the most heart-breaking, earth-shattering pains. I wish we could all have more time together with our beloved pets, even though no amount of time will ever be enough.
Our loved one’s stories will always be a part of our own, and we can bring photos with us into the future to cherish the incredible love and bond that was shared. Creating photographs to capture this love is the very essence of Hound In Hand.
I aim for my services to be as accessible as possible for those facing impossibly-hard goodbyes. This is why I offer complimentary end-of-life photo sessions for pets and their people. Everyone deserves to have beautiful photos with their pets, because the love that they give is one of the biggest loves there is.

What’s included:

I’ll come to your home, or we’ll meet on location around Adelaide on a weekday of your choice.
Sessions are what YOU want them to be. This means you can have your whole family involved, or just solo portraits of your pet.
Sessions last for approximately 45 min-1 hour (this can be shorter if need be)
You will receive an online gallery with the option to choose your preferred package (Premium, Classic or Essential) after you have viewed your photos. Your gallery stays active for six months to give you time - when time is of the essence.

Frequently Asked Questions

+ How well behaved does my pooch need to be?

There is absolutely no pressure for dogs to be on their best behaviour — far from it! Every dog is one of a kind, and every relationship is too — I love to photograph them all. But to ensure that your session will be a success, I’ll come prepared with treats, toys and a whole lot of patience.

+ Although my dog is my best friend, they aren’t exactly polite around other dogs...

I have plenty of suggestions for beautiful locations across Adelaide that will provide us with space to ourselves, but if your dog would be more comfortable at home I can come to you, or your session can take place in my daylight studio.

+ My dog needs to be on a lead, will that be a problem?

With the magic of Photoshop, you can have the best of both worlds — on the day of your session, you can feel secure with your dog on the lead, and I’ll remove leads from your photographs afterwards.

+ My dog is actually a cat, can you photograph them?

Of course! No matter what side of the dog vs cat debate you’re on, celebrating the love and connection between you and your fur family is what Hound in Hand is all about. If your pet isn’t able to be on-location — whether they’re a cat, a rabbit, a chicken or even a goldfish — I'll gladly come to you for a photo session at home.

+ I feel nervous about having my photo taken and I’m worried I’ll look awkward!

I’m not only a dog person, I’m also a people person, so my approach is to create a relaxed environment for both people and pets. Your pet-centred photo session will take some of the focus (and the pressure!) off you, so you don’t need to worry about smiling on cue. Nothing forced or staged; just you as you are, to capture the authentic bond your family shares.
