Cash, Emma + Stefan

How did Cash come into your world?

We adopted Cash from GAP almost 4 months ago, shortly after moving into our new house. His racing name was Crackerjack Cash, and he's a little over 4 and a half years old. As soon as we met him we fell in love! We couldn't imagine a life without him.

How would you describe his personality?

Cash is super goofy, clumsy, and precious. And he's definitely gay! His tail wags so hard when any of our male friends or family come over that we're pretty sure it's only a matter of time before he puts a hole in the entryway wall. We learn more about his personality every day as he settles in to retired life as part of our family. We've learned he loves to throw a good tantrum when he doesn't get his way!

If he could tell us all something about you, what would he say?

Dad's my favourite! But Mum's shoes taste better.

What does he love to do the most?

He loves to sneak into the spare bedroom and do zoomies on the bed, usually after we've just changed the sheets. He also loves shoes (Emma has had to say goodbye to 1 pair of heels, 1 pair of thongs and 2 pairs of slippers), cardboard, wrapping paper, and as we recently discovered, Christmas decorations. Cash LOVES going for walks. He does a little tippy tap dance every time he sees us holding his lead. More than anything though, he loves belly rubs. As soon as someone sits down on the couch next to his bed, he rolls onto his back with his legs in the air awaiting pats. And if you dare stop, you usually get smacked with a paw or his head!

What's everyday life like with Cash by your side?

Better than we had ever imagined! Though he is a very long boi who often blocks us from getting up and down the stairs, so it takes a while for us to move around the house. We love our daily walks and playtime, and the way he magically comes to life when he hears us opening the treat container.

How has having a dog changed your life?

It is a huge responsibility for sure, but he brings us so so so much happiness and makes us both smile every day.
